Key Treatment Focuses
Sudden hearing loss (SHL) is defined as greater than 30 dB hearing reduction, over at least three contiguous frequencies, occurring over a period of 72 hours or less. The condition may appear instantaneously or develop rapidly over a period of a few hours or days. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy provides the chance to restore hearing to patients.
As in all therapies - not all outcomes are equally favorable. In a small percentage of those who receive radiotherapy, the tissue response is accentuated and damage to normal tissue occurs. The unpleasant effects usually settle post irradiation, these effect can be eased by Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
It is estimated that about 15% to 25% of people with diabetes develop a foot ulcer in their lifetime. These wounds are often resistant to treatment and difficult to heal; therefore, people with diabetes experience lower limb amputation at about 20 times the rate of people without diabetes. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy can improve this healing process, saving limbs.

I suffered sudden hearing loss in my right ear 3 weeks ago. I received several steroid ear injections and had 23 HBOT sessions. My hearing has improved dramatically! The team at Medical oxygen repair were excellent, being from out of town they scheduled me twice daily to ensure my out of town stay was minimal ( 3 weeks) The staff , including the Doctors treated me exceptionally. I completed 3-4 months daily hyperbaric treatments in this clinic in 2017, if I remember correctly. I can only say great things about the staff and both Dr Evans and Dr. Jamal! Very friendly but professional stuff!

I was fortunate enough to be referred to the clinic for sudden hearing loss the staff are absolutely amazing! They really care about their patients and shows. The one thing that has impressed me is that they always put safety above everything else. The doctors that work there are amazing. They take a very active role in patient care and ensure that the patients receive the best level of care possible. You are greeted by name when you arrive and all of the support staff are very caring. They are all committed to ensure your treatment plan is followed and that you are taken care of. I really can’t say enough about the staff they are all professionally trained and they always put patients needs first. Thank you so much for everything you are a great team of professionals.

I cannot say enough about my experience at Mo2R. Everyone of the staff members were beyond accommodating and pleasant. Obviously the trying times of the pandemic have added an extra burden for health-care facilities, and the cleanliness of Medical Oxygen Repair exceeded all of the government guidelines.

I underwent ankle surgery in June 2018, but by Dec 2019 my ankle wound had not fully healed, and I was advised that I would probably be facing amputation of my foot. However, a medical practitioner suggested that I try hyperbaric treatment to complete the healing of my ankle wound, which I began at Medical Oxygen Repair around Feb 2019. I underwent about 150 sessions of hyperbaric treatment at MO2R that ended around June 2020, at which time my wound had fully healed. Seven months later my wound has remained closed, despite the fact that it is at the flex point on my foot. I am indebted to MO2R both for the professionalism of their medical staff, as well as the knowledge of their doctors for determining the best treatment for my ankle. I can thoroughly recommend MO2R to anyone who might benefit from hyperbaric treatment, and can also confirm that their procedures are covered by OHIP.
